About Outspoken

OSU's Outspoken was founded in the fall of 2002 by Jason Taylor and David Emmert, two music majors at Oregon State University. The group was formed through recruiting by word of mouth, and later by audition. There are currently fifteen members, allowing for two or three voices per part (first and second tenors, baritone, bass), one soloist and one vocal percussionist. Outspoken has performed at multiple concerts with the OSU Music Department, as well as holding its own concerts and informal performances for various student groups. The Music Department has allowed members the option of class credit, officially making Outspoken a part of OSU and a recruiting power for the vocal music program.

Outspoken has consisted of men who come from a variety of academic departments, including Music, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Management, New Media Communications, Psychology, Wood Science and Technology, Business, Computer Graphics and Communications. As a group we hope to keep growing in popularity and building on our recent success.

Outspoken also maintains a fanbase via its MySpace Page, a new facebook fan page, as well as a twitter account. Just some more ways to keep in touch with us!
